| I think I'm pretty much done with Xanga, but I wanted to pop in and say
hey, I think I may have actually kicked type 2 diabetes' ass. (
For the moment, anyway... it is a progressive disease.) I used to
have to keep under 45 grams of carb per meal to have good blood glucose
numbers, now 45 grams causes barely a blip on my radar. I tested
carefully last night to make sure I wasn't just hitting a BG peak at a
different time than previously.
The ironic thing is I can't actually increase my carbs all that much
anyway, because that would also increase my calories, and doing that
long-term would undo all the good I've done so far. But I
can have the occasional treat without fear now.

| Looks like I'm going to get around $2500 as compensation for my accident.
Hub points out that this would buy me a pretty nice trip. Maybe to England?

| My feet are painful and tingly.
This is very scary for a person with diabetes.

| Went to the Farmer's Market today, and I should have brought more
money. All those beautiful tempting fruits and vegetables! I was
like a... well, like an adult at a farmer's market, really.
I felt a little freaked out when I first quit, lost and adrift, but now
I am loving the free time. I got up early yesterday and spent
more time with Bam than usual, and did lots of chores. Today,
too. Of course my back is now killing me, but these days, that's just
life.

| Re the doorknobs that look like eyes, Bam has apparently decided that
if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. We are now a ghost family - Bam is
Scary Cherry, hub is Duke Spooky - and he is taping "eyes" to all the
wall to haunt the place up.
